Lagartijeando – La Frontera (Weekly Music Roundup)

The sounds of traditional Andean instruments meet electronic music production in the work of Lagartijeando , an Argentine producer whose real name is Mati Zundel and who made this music after a series of trips to Bolivia. Lagartijeando does all the usual beat-making stuff, but he can be subtle about it, especially when he’s using instruments like the Andean flute, and the charango, the small mandolin-like instrument traditionally made from an armadillo shell. He uses it prominently on this song, called “La Frontera.”Music by Argentine producer Lagartijeando is part of our Weekly Music Roundup.
